Soldering and 3D Printing isn’t everybody’s cup of tea. All you actually need now is connecting wire, a wire stripper, and a couple screwdrivers! Things just got a whole lot easier!
Raspberry Pi Hats are now available, assembled and fully tested for $99 + USPS priority mail shipping to anywhere in the USA. You may also order them with the 3D printed mounting plate for $109 + USPS priority mail shipping to anywhere in the USA. The mounting plate supports any Raspberry Pi model 3/4/5 (or clone) footprint as well as clones of the Raspberry Pi Zero. Please do not attempt to use an original Raspberry Pi Zero since they only have a single core processor. There is a 10 day lead time on all orders to allow for any parts stock that I may have to reorder.
NOTE: I am currently working with a person in Ireland, “James (The Doc)” who will also be selling assembled units outside of the USA.
I will soon be adding pre-assembled and tested LIDAR hydrometer reader units to this page. James (The Doc) has designed the printed circuit board and case and we are in the process of testing his design of a capacitive flow rate sensor. Once the testing is done, I will make them available for purchase here as well.
I am still evaluating the feasibility of selling fully assembled and tested turnkey systems. Reliable parts availability is the main obstacle. The legal issues regarding as-is sales will also have to be looked into. I’m not offered a warranty on any of the parts that I purchase, other than the limited Amazon return timeframe of unopened parts.
A new product is also on the way soon, the “Airhead” controller for Air Stills and clones. This solves a number of problems in the static zero-adjustment design of the Air Still and introduces timed runs with selectable starting and ending temperatures, as well as untimed constant temperature and constant power modes.
This system is only intended for hobbyist and small business micro distillers. Commercial distilleries use continuous column stills, this system would be of no value or use in that kind of setting. The target audience for this system are those who want to have the convenience of hands-free reproducibility or just want to tame down a touchy still.
